I have often wondered this. Did St. Paul or anyone who was a high priest who saw Jesus performed miracles, were against him then converted ever speak against the Holy Spirit before hand?
Thank you and
God Bless

St.Paul was not an eye witness of Jesus Christ so he didnt see Jesus do miracles directly but a very, very special miracle happened when he had his conversion. Did he speak against the Holy Spirit, that I dont know. Also remember that when especially in the Old Testament and I believe in the New Testament as well when they talk about the spirit they are talking about God’s spirit not the Holy Spirit the 3rd person of the Trinity.

I assume that you are referring to the “unforgivable sin” (aka. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit). The answer is no.

The Catholic Church understands “speaking against the Holy Spirit” to mean dying with unrepentant sin. This means that someone who sinned and know it was a sin, and did it willfully, and is not repentant of it, cannot be forgiven because by not repenting they are not seeking forgiveness. And you can’t receive forgiveness if you do not seek it. By denying God’s forgiveness, the grace of which is given to humanity by the Holy Spirit, you are thereby denying (or speaking against) the Holy Spirit.

Okay so when the word SPEAKS comes up we don’t mean as in speaks in words from the mouth only speaks from the actions? I am just wondering is all:)

I believe the bible makes it clear the only thing a person needs to do in order to be saved, is to believe Jesus is the son of God, came to earth and died for our sins, nothing else is required.

Is this not accurate?

We must also make sure we do not die in the state of mortal sin – that is, be guilty of committing a grave sin and not repenting and confessing it.

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are plain: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, party spirit, 5:21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that **those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. **

This is an over-generalization, yes.

It gets more complex when you get into, “What does it mean to believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Savior of all?”. You have to take all of the Bible into context, not just use a particular verse or book.

[BIBLEDRB]John 14:15[/BIBLEDRB]

Yes. And avoid sin.

Even the demons believe that and tremble.
