Did the 2014 Grammy's take a pot shot at Catholicism?

During a performance resembling ‘we are the world’ on a church background it appeared as if they took a pot shot at not only religion but the Catholic Church. The main pot shot singer did a sign of the cross as he sang. Minutes later both gay and straight appeared to be been married in the crowd.
All this was a great hit by the audience. The Catholic Church remains a contradiction to many;)

the god of this world hath blinded them. One day, the precious Son of God and his never ending Sacrifice will be vindicated and ALL MANKIND, whether they ever care to admit it in this life, WILL BOW before Him and declare Him King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

I gladly bow before Him in this present reality so that on THAT DAY, I will bow to Him in everlasting thankful adoration and not because I know that it is eternally too late. May the Holy Spirit convict men before that day.

especially those in need of thy mercy

He may not know that it is supposed to be done with the right hand. I am left handed and a convert. Sometimes I find myself using my left hand because it is my dominant hand. I also find myself genuflecting on my left knee sometimes too. Nothing out of disrespect, it is just my dominant side.

Another theory is that the left has always been associated with the devil, so he may have meant it to be a slap in the face, so to speak.

I don’t know his motives and I will not assume.
 
Just another sign of ignorance from the culture at large; Catholics, and the church have dealt with such things before. They’ve attacked us for certain doctrines in the past, and we’re still doing fine. After all… The gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.
 
It seems like taking pot shots never gets old! Yes, but it’s only today I came across it. :o

the Grammys have a long history of making shows and having acts that mock Christianity and especially Catholics. It is nothing new here. I think Katy Perry in the one song she did basically performed some kind of witchcraft type thing in the same show. I don’t think this will change and the best thing for Catholics and other Christians is not to support and watch the Grammys.
 
I guess I always seem to fall for it. I always have hope of listening to good, creative, and interesting music. I forget it can contain that sort of stuff:(😦

They did. I think that’s this year’s show. The nominations announced are for next year’s.

If there is anymore proof that the Grammys are anti-Christian, there’s this song nominated Best Song of the Year called “Take Me To Church” by Hozier. Personally I haven’t heard the song, but thank goodness I didn’t. I searched the song on Wikipedia and it said that the song is in a category of songs “critical of religion”. Has anyone heard the song before?
 
What a bore! I can’t believe I just wasted 4 minutes of my life watching that _r_p. :sleep: Mr. Tyler needs to call his barber for an appointment. 😛

It might be the one posted on my 1st posting. On this Youtube link fast forward it to minute 2hr. 16 minutes to see that particular song.

It’s not that. That’s a different song. And I recognize the guy from earlier this year because I watched a snippet of his performance.
