How was it? I was thinking of doing the fish dinner tonight but was feeling ill? Did you go?

No, silly, are you being facetious and snarky. Stop copying me.

Fish fry / dinner whatever is traditional Catholic thing in U.S. It’s just a lenten community thing to do on Friday after work. After that they usually do stations of the cross at Church.

I don’t do stations too much, but I ought to go at least once during lent.

Doing the Stations is the way to go :+1:t4:
I would have to travel perhaps an hour to join in with an organised Stations Of The Cross.

No, but they occur on Fridays.

I did not go to a fish fry since ours is on for next week and I won’t go then either.

It’s common for some of the Catholic parishes in my area to do this.

They’ll have a fish fry in their parish kitchen on Friday evenings, and then have Stations of the Cross in the church afterwards during Lent.

I would go for Stations of the Cross during Lent.

I did go for the fish fry a couple of times when I belonged to my last parish. It was good. 🙂

I used to go to captains D fish place in Cleveland Tennessee. For a great fish Friday!!!

That sounds great,I’ll book my plane ticket 😺 Sigh, you’ve got some good practices in the US.

Our local Knights of Columbus has a fish fry every Friday during Lent, but my sister had already cooked some salmon for us to eat. I was tempted to go to the fish fry anyway after eating the salmon dinner, but somehow that didn’t seem in keeping with the Lenten spirit of sacrifice and self-denial. More like Lenten gluttony! 😯

No Stations of the Cross for me either yesterday 😔, but I usually do attend the Friday Stations at the cathedral here at least once during Lent.

Our parish has a frugal soup meal every Wednesday during Lent, I guess so as not to compete with the Knights of Columbus fish fry on Fridays.

Participated in Stations. No associated meal. It’s not done here.

Fish fry or a “Lenten Simple Supper” is the practice after Stations around here.

I used to love Stations. Sadly they are becoming politicized around here 😦

That’s unfortunate. In what way?

Since Stations every Friday in Lent are only available in one parish here, thankfully that parish is run by the ICRSS. No politics whatsoever.
