Did you have a Good Fri collection at your parish?

I thought they always take up a collection for the Holy Land shrines and churches

We didn’t have one, and I would like to make a small donation …Is there a way I can do this online?
 
We had a collection last night. I ended up rummaging through my purse for my wallet because I wasn’t prepared like usual. Holy Thursday had no collection, so I thought it would be the same.

Perhaps you could give to the poor box at your Church instead?

We had collections both on Holy Thursday (for our local food bank) and Good Friday. I’ve always been under the impression that internationally the Good Friday collection is for the Holy Land. It is in Canada at any rate.

I know that some dioceses have a diocesan collection once a year and funds from that collection are allocated to each of the collections for outside sources such as Missions (AKA Evangelization of Nations), Pope’s Pastoral Intentions (AKA Peter’s Pence) & Holy Land. Your diocese may be one of those.

Yes & I was taken by surprise. I thought Father announced last Sunday that the 2nd collection on Easter will be for the Holy Land so I only had a couple bucks to throw in on Friday. As Grover would say, I am so embarrassed.

We can donate online thanks to Malo for giving us that link…I am going to wait and see if they take up a second collection tonight , and if they don’t ,I will use the link
 
The Holy Land Collection has always been on Good Friday in every parish I have ever attended, but this year the collection’s specially marked envelope was on Palm Sunday, which suprised me. That was when the second collection was taken. 🤷
 
My husband does the envelopes so perhaps we already gave to it then…I really don’t pay much attention except to remind him not to forget to bring it to mass…He does the bills, thank goodness…I did them for years and was happy to let him do it

I hope all of the envelopes are the same in every parish. i have no idea if they are
 
Yes we did and it was for the Holy land. Unfortunately I had forgotten my purse as I left the house in a rush. My priest was happy for me to give it to him at the end of mass today.
 
we didnt, but that is because we had a nightmare situation(ill just say it involved both CPR and an ambulance) happen in the middle of the service, and decided to not send around the collection bins after that. It had been planed to take place for the Holy Land though
