Never having the chance to really read this, or actually discover what it is about. Could anyone help point out what exactly Didache is as well as some topics covered in it, if it is anything at all?

It’s an early Christian document, dating in its present form from about the end of the first century but part of it probably much earlier. “Didache” means “Teaching” and the book self-describes as the Teaching of the Apostles - it includes some catechetical material, some instructions regarding liturgical celebrations and other "church business, and some sayings of Jesus.

In the years before the canon was set, many churches considered the Didache as Scripture along with other apostolic writing.

Probably most interesting in the ways that it demonstrates the liturgical structure and teaching of the Church from a very early date.

The Didache could be construed as the earliest catechism.
It is also referenced in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

You might want to get this:
The Treasury of Catholic Wisdom edited by the late Father John Hardon (Memory Eternal!).

It’s a good anthology and well worth the price, an awesome value when purchased used.

Other sources (like Paulist Press) have this with a much better binding and higher cost.
