I’ve looked at the prayer intentions and there are prayer intentions request from people who are going through things.

How, do I begin this discussion. I’m lost for words. Well, we are not asked to be end time thinkers but has anyone in any community gone through things? Maybe the whole community? Good or possibly bad or both?

I heard on daily Mass Pope Francis has been talking about the presence of the Devil in the world. I have trouble navigating the Vatican website but if anyone knows where I can get that transcript please do share. Also, if anyone has heard that as well can you provide more details?

But, in general is the world in such a rut of secular hedonism, among other things, people and communities out there have gone through things? Maybe signs or miracles that this is going too far?

Is anyone concerned about the state of humanity, the moral, religious lives? I’m 38 but it seems like a hedonist and secular seventies lead to a decadent eighties and fraudulent nineties with the hedonism and decadence still there and now the world is in an Evil rut much like Job.

I’ll provide more details if you ask.

But my evening consists of watching Mass online, (I attend Mass at church on Sunday), praying the Rosary (not all days but many days) and I used to have an online resource of daily prayer given by a Bishop that is no longer available. So, I need a prayer book.

I don’t live in a Catholic city. I live in small town in the desert. But there is a Catholic bookstore which may still be open. So, I will buy it there or online.

Here are the books I have found. Please offer other suggestions:

Christian Prayer, Liturgy of the hours. The site used to read from it. It seems complicated but I can always learn how to use it later.

The Benedictine Prayer Book. I highly value respect the Benedictine order and know they have intervened on my behalf and my communities behalf. My brother in law and I both fell in love with them without ever discussing them at around the same time.

The Way of Perfection by St. Teresa of Avilla. I don’t believe it is a prayer book but more a prayer instructional

Those are the books I am looking at. Does anyone else have any suggestions for resources for Daily Prayer. Maybe an official Catholic Devotional. Thanks. And if anyone has anything happen recently if you can please talk about it here. Nothing will sound outlandish to me.

I really feel the world is going through things and we need prayer in our Daily Lives especially if it is what the Priest said was true the Pope mentioning the presence of the Devil in the world. I’ll share more about my experience if people start opening up.

Thanks again

Reporters will post some quotes from his homilies occasionally. Not all homilies are available on the Vatican website. Note that H.H. Pope Francis did mention the devil here on 2019/09/07:
Be strong! Have the courage to take little steps, the courage to believe that your littleness makes God happy and brings salvation to the world. - “No, but I think religious life should be changed, it should be made more perfect and more divine, and for this I want to become a Prioress, a Superior, in order to bring about the change!..” I’m not saying that some of you think like this… But the devil instils these thoughts. If you want to transform and save the world with Jesus – and not just the monastery and religious life – it begins with these little acts of love and self-sacrifice, which “trap” God and bring him close to us.

Like what you wrote. If you can get Ignatius Catholic Study Bible - Ignatius Study Bible — Dr. Scott Hahn - The Official Site. (it even has booklets if you rather use them. I have the booklet for Matthew … scripture is great for prayer, lectio divina
. and
. God bless…yes, we are in critical times but so were the first Christians. May we not fear but be prepared.
