Differences in 1950's Roman missal?

I’m considering purchasing a pre Vatican II Roman missal & I’m curious as to the differences of missals printed during the 1950’s & early 60’s.

The first missal I’m considering is dated 1950 & the seller states that there are no references to St.Joseph the worker. The second is dated in '57 & was edited by monsignor Knox & the third is a St. Josephs daily missal copyright in '64, but is still a 1962 edition of the Roman missal.

Can anyone provide any insight as to what the differences may be?

Probably the most significant difference would be the changes to Holy Week and the Easter Vigil; the latter I think at first experimentally in 1951 and the former in 1955. The current approved missal for the EF Mass is 1962. I would think the 1950 version would be If historical interest only.

You could use any of them at the Extraordinary Form but the 1964/62 one is the only one you could follow word-for-word all the time.

The 50s ones will be fine except for Holy Week and certain feasts like the Feast of the Precious Blood. Although it will not say “and Saint Joseph, her most chaste spouse” in the Canon and will have three Confiteors when the 1962 reduced it to two.

That said, my go-to missal is a 1954 because its a handier size than my 1962 missals. I just check it against my TAN 1962 liturgical calendar on Saturday nights to make sure it has the right propers for the next day.
