Different between wear an unblessed and blessed medal

I would like to know if there are any different wearing a blessed St Benedict medal and non blessed St Benedict medal.

From the Manual of Indulgences : Norms and Grants, Washington, D.C. , United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, 2006, p. 16:
N15. The faithful can acquire an indulgence if they use devoutly one of the following properly blessed pious objects, namely: a crucifix or cross, rosary, scapular, or medal.
