Hello Everyone,

For some while, I have struggled to pray out loud and quietly in my head as I tend to repeat myself and think “oh no what if I didn’t pronounce it correctly? in the correct order? Did I say it clearly, or was there a stutter?” like there is something trying to interrupt my prayers and worship.

I have since started writing down my prayers - this way I feel like I am more coherent and feel like there is more emotion in my prayer.

This isn’t entirely new, in high school/university I used to write out my prayers by hand or on a computer.

Have you guys had similar experiences or do you pray a little differently?

Thank You,

I sometimes whisper or mouth the words, as I’ve found (particularly in the early morning), it helps me focus, but I’m also a big fan of writing. If you can sing/chant a prayer, that helps me “get into it emotionally” as well.

I’ve had this experience. But God does not care. He knows you and loves you 🙂

I sometimes pray out loud by myself, but most times silently in my head. Don’t be concerned with such things as order or pronouncing it right: keep in mind it is God! God reads the heart. If you want to write out prayers or read them out of a prayer book, that’s just fine.
Again, keep in mind that the most important thing is to focus your mind and heart on God. It matters less what you actually say, since He knows all about it before you even speak a word.
