Hello everyone
I’ve been an on-off member of this site for a while. I’ve recently come back, done a lot of reading and a little posting. I have not settled on a view point relating to the various versions of the latin rite.
I’d like to say that I’m a little worried by the ferocity of some of the discussions on this board regarding the Mass.
There was one thing that caught me in the recent Motu Proprio:
“They are, in fact two usages of the one Roman rite.”
Both, then, are valid rites of the Mass. I am a little concerned that the view of some towards the NO Mass is disrespectful of this point - there is what appears to be bashing of the NO liturgy and those who love it.
I am also concerned that there will be some who come to this site seeking a deeper understanding of Catholicism - people who want to know what we, as Catholics, are about. I worry that we are wrongly perceived as divided and, at times, lacking in charity towards each other. There is room for all of us!
I am sure that most people’s intentions are good, but I’d like to ask everyone please consider the effect of what you say…
Regards,
Vince
