Would it be appropriate to gather with family (they are not Catholic)
on Good Friday for a meal. Dh and I will be attending Good Friday services and understand what the day is about. We do not intend on making the meal a party of (ie drinking, ect) of any type and see it as a family meal. Would this be ok?

Hi,

Good Friday is not a day for visiting. It is different from every other day and we are obliged to make it so in the way we spen it. A simple meal in a house devoid of radio and TV is appropriate. The children need to notice that it is different–and the adults do too.
Pray the Sorrowful Mysteries of the rosary after dinner.
