I am considering moving north to Tallahassee, so I took this past weekend to visit. I attended Mass at the co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More and was very disturbed at some of the things that the priest did during mass especially ad-libbing much of the liturgy of the Eucharist (although he did say the words of consecration properly). When Father held up the host and said, “This is Jesus, the lamb of God, who takes away the sins of our nation” I just about passed out from shock!
I was just wondering if there are any members here who live in or near Tallahassee who can tell me if this is the norm there, or if there are parishes that are more orthodox. I would be greatly relieved to hear that this was an abberation peculiar to this particular priest, but something tells me if it is happening at the cathedral, it is more the norm.
Thanks for any (name removed by moderator)ut.
