As you may (or may not know) I am discerning a call to religious life with the Discalced Carmelite Nuns in Armstrong, B.C.

My Carmelite sisters have a website (they actually got it up and running this year)

carmelspall.org/Home.htm

God bless the Carmelite orders and you,

Wow, what a beautiful website! I especially love the photo albums. 🙂 The scenery there is beautiful. Totally conducive to prayer! How long have you been discerning with them?

CarmeliteGirl25- I really like the picture of the Carmelite Sister gazing upon the Cross. How wonderful. I remember seeing it on a website but don’t remember which one.

How long have I been discerning a vocation with them? All my life if that makes any sense.

God bless you,

LOL! It’s funny that you should say that because as you were posting this, I was changing my picture to my order’s vow ceremony. LOL!

I found it from the Iron Mountain, MI Carmelite website. I love it too. 😃

🙂 What is everyday life in there?
Oh, I mean from morning to night? what kind of work you do? you have your room yourself?
Is it very strict? I guessed it. But perhaps it is better-

Mother Ann informed me that " In Carmelite we do little things/work for the love of Jesus."

The main “work” of a Carmelite is Prayer and Sacrifice.

I really like the way Reverend Mother Prioress and all her daughters in Carmel from St. Agatha, ON. explains.

When I visited them I stayed in the Guest House with Sister Therese. We had our own rooms/cells. My room/cell had a bed, chair, night table, lamp, night light, an alarm clock (which I had to remove I couldn’t stand the ticking), clear plastic storage drawers, closet picture of Jesus, and an absolutely stunning view.

I’m sorry I don’t really know what you mean by strict? I suppose everyone has their own views of what strict means.

Carmelites live in strict papal enclosure as desired by St. Teresa and given by the Church.

Yes, the Sisters of the Carmel of St. Joseph always had a smile upon their face and I remember Sister’s laughing and enjoying themselves.

What love, dedication, and zeal they have for Our Lord, Our Lady, and all of God’s people.

roselily and anyone- I’m sorry I can’t accurately answer all of your questions since I didn’t visit/stay at Carmel of St. Joseph very long. I have another post explaining. Another reason some may have a different answer than me just like some may very well have a different call. *It is also best to ask the Discalced Carmelite Nuns your questions and concerns.

Just remember that the Carmelite Nuns (and all religious) are Praying for you and for me. How wonderful is that? Praised Be to God.

God bless,

Oh, goforgoal, May God bless you and all the Nuns and Sisters, Praised Be to God. Praise His Holy Name.
Oh, I do not know, indeed,😊
 I -do not know-that I say strict I mean that like must Rise at 5:30 a.m.
No! No! I would rather rise at 7:30 am, or maybe 7:00 am. No !
It cannot be helped ! Remember-before my grandma always get up so early, but I, Oh, No! I will search if all the places for Nuns or Sisters must get up that early, O I mean praise His Holy Name, whatever happens then is in God’s hands.
I will pray more at home, at morning when I open my eyes , and before sleep, and during the day, praise His Holy Name.
May God bless Carmelite Nuns, and God bless you!

Dear CAF members & family, I realize that this post was started about 3 years ago but this particular Carmelite is/was not meant for me after all.

I still believe that Our Lord is calling me to serve Him and His people in Religious life and I can’t shake the feeling of Carmelite.

I have contacted a Discalced Carmelite Nun name Sr. Juana Benedicita of the Cross who is trying to establish an order of Discalced Carmelite Nuns in Moose Jaw, SK., Canada.

Whether I am called to live a life of Carmelite or to just simply live a life as a Catholic lay-woman I will always have Carmelite embedded in my heart.

God bless,
