Hello,

If anyone owns a web or article directory or a public forum or any website that allows people to publish content or links that give or promotes their points of view on worldly things and on the spiritual things, i have questions.

I have 2 websites that are based on content and link submission. I have seen content and websites that i don’t agree with and contradict what i believe as a Catholic Christian. As a rule of thumb for myself, here are some websites and content i never accept:

Pharmacies, Yoga, astral travel, ufos, over the top conspiracy theories, psychics, witchcraft, astrology, black magic, cults or evil ways.

I also come by Christian websites that promote an anti Catholic doctrine.

What i ask is, should i accept these types of websites and content knowing that my websites is being publicly viewed and may lead to someone being influenced by the content and links that are on my websites?

Should i be reasonable and allow freedom of speech or should i stick with i what i think is right and not allow my websites to have a hand in promoting things that may be morally wrong and are definitely morally wrong?

Thanks for reading.

God Bless.

I’m curious about a couple of the site types in your list and your reasons for never accepting links:

Pharmacies - a great number of us would not be here if there was no way to obtain medicine. If you mean pharmaceutical companies, some are good, some not so good.

Yoga - as exercise/stretching it benefits many people. If you are banning Yoga, what about martial arts sites? (again as exercise and self defense these benefit many)

UFOs - there is no doctrine of the Church that precludes the possibility that God created other beings on other worlds.

The above is my take on these, what are your reasons for banning?

No, your actually doing good for not permitting wickedness on your site. God bless!

If it’s your personal site, and you own it, you have the right to “moderate” it and set the content rules. So feel free to do so!
