Hi I was wondering if any of you are discerning going to the FSSP seminary or other traditional seminaries. I live in a country without FSSP, and am discerning if God wants me to be a priest for them.
are there any traditionalist Dominican communities in union with Rome?Cool. Do you discern traditionalist Dominicans?
I’m editing out my previous statement–after doing a little more checking, the “independent monastery” that I was referring to is not Clear Creek, which was invited into its current location by the diocesan bishop…In the USA there are the traditional Carmelites, the clearcreek Benedictines (both very strict and cloistered) and the Canons Regular of the New Jerusalem (who have a somewhat more active outlook, uncloistered).
I heard the FSSP seminarians made their annual retreat there, so you’re impression is probably wrong.Better check carefully about the ClearCreek Benedictines–I’m under the impression that they are the monastic equivalent of those “Independent Chapels”…
Look up the Society of St. Vincent Ferrier , its a french indult group that is domican though not officially recognized as a branch of the dominican order (but still officially recognized by the Pope and the Church of course).Cool. Do you discern traditionalist Dominicans?
