I feel so discouraged these days about trying to stop abortion. I know its a great evil but no one seems to care (excluding the Church and a few others.) The majority of people don’t, at least the ones in power. It all seems to hard. I will be against abortion no matter what, but I feel so upset.

Could any of you offer me a kind word of encouragment. I need it 😦

All we can do is our best, and everything else leave in the hands of God. Don’t worry; I hear in the end God wins. God will take care of everything in His good time. Sometimes when I feel discouraged I don’t read the news for a while and direct my mind elsewhere for a few days. I take a sabbatical from it all. Treat myself to a mental vacation.

I hereby give you permission to go on sabbatical. 😃

Go out and enjoy a mental vacation. 🙂
 
It’s like the story of the kid throwing starfish back into the ocean. they told him there were too many starfish for him to make a difference, and he replied “it makes a difference to this one”. Any one person you convince in your personal ministry is very, very important.
 
Rent the movie “Amazing Grace”. Its the story of the English man who almost single-handedly ended legalized slavery in the British Empire.

It’s nice and cozy feeling in the end, but the parallels to the pro-life experience during the process are astounding.

and if it’s any consolation, Jesus got kind of discouraged towards the end too. Sweated blood due to anxiety over abortion yet?? Me neither. In the end, we aren’t called to be successful, just faithful.

This 40 days for life, FIVE clinics closed, more than 20 PP employees and volunteers quit, and more than 2000 babies were saved. Thanks be to God! There is so much reason for hope and joy!

edit: oops…that was the last 3 years. Still, we are making a difference!
  • 2,702 lives saved from abortion – that we know of
  • 28 abortion workers quit their jobs
  • 5 abortion facilities shut down for good —TWO of them this year!

think about this. in Canada where abortion is universally legal (all provinces), a recent survey says that 60% of the people think abortion is morally wrong

so still a majority of people still believe in the right values, regardless if its legal or not
so don’t be discouraged
 
God has already won the war. We just need to be faithful to Him and do our best. Ultimately Truth will be victorious!
 
Please understand that you will not end abortion. But you can work to stop some. I have worked outside of abortion mills and we, with God, have turned many women away. I pray when I cannot get to the clinic. You can educate yourself and others on the lies of the abortion industry. I changed a young woman’s mind about being pro-choice just by refuting some of her misconceptions. You do not have to be successful, just faithful.

Yes, it’s a battle so we can become discouraged at any time.
I have found a new inspiration for such moments -
a quick prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe:

"Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us!"

Since this image of Mary is dedicated as the singular Patron of the Americas
and since Mary is depicted as a pregnant mother, I’m happy to call on her.
