Disgusting-horrible thing happened

Guys, I dont know if this is the approriate forum, but it seems fitting.

On the weekend, a white kid from my school, was walking at night home, he was on a street, a car stopped right in front, 5 black guys got out, and started beating him with baseball bats, as they were doing it, they said “this is for Katrina”

This is completely disgusting and horrible. And they say only whites are racist!

Just thought I’d share what I heard.

You’re right. It’s disgusting and horrible. I don’t understand how some people can do things like that. What kind of logic did they use to come to the conclusion that the white kid was responsible with what happened with Katrina? If people in this world would turn to Jesus and His teachings things like this would never happen. It just another example of how messed up this world is.

what do the people of Canada have to do with the U.S. response (or lack thereof) to the victims of Katrina?

Do you have a news story link to shed some more light on this story? Is this kid in the hospital? I’d be surprised he lived to tell the tale? How did you hear about it?

I’m not so certain it is true as much as it is a horrible attempt to incite violence by spreading rumors.

Hmm no news report that I know of.

But I talked to the guy who was beaten first hand, heard the story, matched what a teacher told me. I saw the bruises and everything.

Me and all my friends, thought it was insane, I agree Canada has nothing to do with it, I guess they think white people killed blacks in New Orleans, and they wanna get revenge.

I assure you it did happen, I am not a liar.

The boy was badly bruised, gash near his eye, cuts all over.

I think the problem comes from the fact, that black people, see to still want to identify, with solely their race. They do not care, one African is from South Africa, and the other Uganda, they are all “brothers” to use the term. My school has a large percentage of Blacks, particularly from Jamaica, we have had race issues at the school before, however. not to this extreme

Sick and twisted what goes on in this world.

If he files a police report and so forth, I am sure, a new story will be available. If I ever see one, I will let you know.

I wasn’t worried you were lying as much as I was worried you were being misled.

I think you’ve summarized the situation adequately…racial tension has been present in your school all along…this was just another excuse to lash out.

I’m sorry for the boy, and hope that your community finds a way to resolve the racial tension there before anyone else gets hurt.

I agree it is horrible …bad things do happen…there is a cure for those that decide to use basebal bats on innocent victims…it is the same cure that that works for those who are dumb enough to bring a knife to a gun fight …don’t work out too well for them:thumbsup:

Sorry to hear about the incident and hope the victim recovers okay. But tell me just how exactly did you go from a “disgusting-horrible” incident, to generalizing about black people? As long as the rest of the world continues to see us as a single group rather than individuals with some common aspects of culture, we will always find strength in that “brotherhood” you mentioned.

At least I have to congratulate you on naming different countries in Africa; I was talking to an Australian based in an African country and had to ask three times, what country do you live in? Each time the response was: Africa! Still want more clues as to why we need a brotherhood?
