Disobedience and mortal sin

Hey forum!!

My dilemma is my dad told me to take my sandals out and wash them, as they were soaking in a bucket of vinegar, cause my feet made them smelly. he told me to dump the water, take some detergent and wash them. I told him no, and no, then i told him why dont you wash it for me? then i did the right thing by being quiet, and i went outside and washed them. Then i felt bad, as i had offended the LORD, who gives me wonderful parents and every gift imaginable, and i had offended my dad, but above all, GOD. I said an act of contrition, in which i did feel bad for what i had said. I went back inside after, and apoligsed to my dad, and made up with him. Disobedience is so hard for me sometimes,

what i want to know, is this case a mortal sin???

Do i need to schedule confession??
 
No, it’s not a mortal sin (IMO, but I’m not your priest). You showed great respect for your father by obeying and apologising, which must have been hard so shows good character on your part. I can’t speak for God, but I’d imagine He’d be pleased that you did the right thing and not too bothered that it took a little working through to get there.

I’m not sure how old you are and how long you’ll be living with your parents, but arguments over dirty sandals is small stuff compared to what most teenagers living at home go through. I think you need to discuss with your confessor what would or wouldn’t constitute grave matter with regard to honoring you mother and father.
