If the bishops won’t hold these universities and professors to account, then I hope Benedict holds the bishops to account. I hope the Newman Society will compile all the dissenting tv videos, transcripts and articles from these people and forwards them to all the competent offices in the Vatican. This is just disgusting!:mad:
 
Academics has to involve free thought, doesn’t it? If professors at a university are forced to think a certain way, they may not be able to do their job.

These colleges/universities are not public universities. They are under the Catholic Church, thus must be in line with Catholic teachings. If the professors do not like it, tough. Let them teach somewhere else.

Academic freedom happens within the context of scholarly authority. These profs have attempted to invent their own careers while throwing over the authority which came before them. This in turn creates a kind of tyranny of the ego. So they are neither academic nor free! Busted.:o
