Which adds to my above point that comedy mirrors reality in a far stronger way than drama. The One-Two was sloppy, claustorphobic, in a building that was condemned (I think) in the final episode. There were some real life detectives who worked just feet away from the holding cell, just like in the series…Barney Miller. Ask any cop.

All movies and most theater requires a state of “suspended disbelief” from the audience. This is what movies have historically been built on. If the movie pushes the limit too far, the audience will not accept the premise of the story.
In this case I would rather older actors and actresses play the part of teens. Too many lives have been ruined by teen stardom. Too many actor and actress worship on the part of teens and tweens have given us Bieber, Cyrus, and other things like that. Not to mention that if the movie portrays sexual or romantic scenes the scandal and maturity of the actor needs to be considered. As a man, I accept that movies will have a certain amount of sexuality in them. I appreciate that when I see a french kiss on screen or some type of cleavage that it is not some underage girl or boy that I am looking at.
And the money is a factor too. If a 25 year old actor or actress wishes to make an adult living and get paid millions of dollars, then that is something that needs a certain amount of maturity to handle. It is also their grown up choice to make. And with younger actors and actresses you have to wonder about parental motives and actions. And what a fair amount of wealth and fame could do to a person who is in one of the most self conscience self discovering parts of life. As Catholics we should be conscience of these things.

I know Miley Cyrus started on a Disney channel tv show. She was on tv everyday. Not sure where Bieber started.
Are there any obnoscious kids like this who started their career with a movie role? I can’t think of one. One role in one movie wouldn’t likely launch another spoiled brat.
Hmmm. How about a movie about a decent girl who saves herself for marriage and meets a nice boy etc etc etc and yet the story is interesting. . Any teenager could star in that.
Now that’s an original idea!
Maybe it would be impossible to pull it off?

Barrymore? who pays any attention to her? The paparozi most likely don’t follow her around. Probably would have turned to coke without a short movie career. Money in the family, you know. Grandfather Lionel Barrymore ended up a drunk.
