Ive heard that the Orthodox and Catholics differ with their views on abortion and contraception, where do the Eastern Catholics stand with this?

Do they have the same views as Catholics or Orthodox?

Also do the Eastern Catholics allow divorce and remarriage like the Orthodox?

Just with Divorce then ,do the Eastern Caths, allow divorce and re marriage like the Orthodox or do they follow the Latin way?

Matters of dogma like the nature of marriage are characteristics of the Universal Church. It is not a question of the Eastern Catholics following the Latin rite, but that dogma is dogma and applies to both.

Only matters of liturgy and discipline are different between the different rites, AFAIK.

Eastern Catholics believe the same as Western Catholics do on these issues, I’m pretty sure. I’m not sure how it could be any other way, since they are matters of dogma, as Jen explained. To be in communion with Rome is to accept the same doctrines as Rome, even if liturgical and theological emphasis are different.

From what i know the Roman Catholic Church doesnt allow divorce for married couples and they cant remarry unless their partner dies.

But in the Orthodox Church one can divorce and remarry 2 or 3 not sure how many times

I’m not sure what your point is. I wasn’t talking about the Orthodox Churches, I was talking about Eastern Catholics, which is what I thought you were asking about.

The Catholic Church has one set of dogma and (I believe) 23 or 24 different rites. One of those rites is the Latin rite, which is what most westerners mean by the term “Roman Catholic.” The rest of those rites (e.g. Maronite Catholic, Melkite Greek Catholic, Syrian Catholic, etc.), are the Eastern Catholic churches. Their view of marriage would be the same as that of the Latin-rite Catholics, because the meaning of the sacrament of Marriage is a matter of dogma, not discipline.

I know very little about the teachings of the Orthodox Churches. I can’t really say anything about what they believe.
