I was divorced and then remarried the same person. Our first marriage was in the Catholic Church. The second marriage was by justice of the peace. What do I need to do to make my marriage in good standing with the Catholic Church? What are the rules for my receiving holy communion?

Thanks

As far as the Church sees it, unless you obtained a decree of nullity, you were still considered married to that person. When you re-married in front of the justice of the peace it was merely for civil effect, the sacramental bond remained even after your civil divorce.
You don’t need to do anything to receive communion, you are eligible to receive as long as you are in a state of grace.
