Do 7th Day Adventists celebrate Easter?

there is a sign out front of the Adventist Church by me that said something to the effect of “a special service of commeration for Jesus Christ”, very badly remembered. Do they not celebrate a “Easter”

Seventh-Day Adventists do celebrate Easter. Unlike certain Sabbattarian groups they even believe that He was crucified on Good Friday and rose on Sunday. (This is as opposed to a handful of Sabbattarians and others, who believe that Christ was crucified on a Wednesday and rose from the dead after sunset on Saturday night. There are complex reasons given for this speculative theory, the chief being that it ensures that Christ was buried a three full days and nights).

The imprtant thing to realize is that Seventh-day Adventists DO believe the conventional teaching about Christ’s death and resurrection, and they DO recognize Easter as a holiday.

They do not have an Easter Sunday, they have an Easter Sabbath. There are SDA who hold to the raising on saturday, sabbath theory.

“Celebrate” and “recognize” are two very different things.

I would agree that SDA’s recognize Easter.

I would not agree that SDA’s celebrate Easter, at least anywhere near the level the Catholic Church (and others) celebrate Easter.

My opinion, only.
