I hear that houdini held fake seances to showcase methods of trickery that many swindlers who practiced “spiritism” and “divination.” He would show his small audience what they did while they pretended to be contacting the other side. Basically debunking/exposing the mediums and their methods.
This makes me wonder. As i was watching beetlejuice the Otho character read a conjuring spell from the handbook for the recently deceased, and conjured up Barbara and Alan Maitland from their upstairs attic hide away *.
My question is. Do the actors or magicians who are knowingly faking a seance step over the line spiritually?
Is this bad news, sinful, or generally dangerous to do if you’re an actor?*
