Such an idea is the kind of folk piety that might be passed down from a Catholic grandmother, but we have no indication in Church teaching that angels do this. Certainly they do not need to do so. If you inadvertently fall asleep during the rosary, don’t worry about it. What matters is your intention to pray the rosary.
