Do Angels serve people to bring them closer to God so that they may one day be able to make it into Heaven?

Edit: Serve is probably the wrong word to use all I mean by it is help and guide people not serve in the way they serve God.

CCC 334 In the meantime, the whole life of the Church benefits from the mysterious and powerful help of angels.

CCC 335 In her liturgy, the Church joins with the angels to adore the thrice-holy God. She invokes their assistance (in the funeral liturgy’s In Paradisum deducant te angeli . . .[“May the angels lead you into Paradise. . .”]). Moreover, in the “Cherubic Hymn” of the Byzantine Liturgy, she celebrates the memory of certain angels more particularly (St. Michael, St. Gabriel, St. Raphael, and the guardian angels).

CCC 336 From its beginning until death, human life is surrounded by their watchful care and intercession. “Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life.” Already here on earth the Christian life shares by faith in the blessed company of angels and men united in God.

So to say they serve humans wouldn’t necessarily be wrong? Not in the way they serve God but they help us because God wants us to be in relationship with him and one day join him in his Kingdom.

The angels in Heaven imitate God’s humility, so yes, they faithfully serve people despite their greatness. Even Jesus came to serve, and he’s God.

It isn’t wrong to say it.
Angels help us, protect us, pray for us. They can do many things. They do it with great joy because they do God’s will.
I suggest you to read this by st. John Paul II.
Catechesis on the Angels

In the sense that some have duties assigned by God that involve us, I wouldn’t say serve, but help or care for. Guardian angels look after individual souls. Others have charge of whole regions/countries.
