Do any of you seminarians or to-be seminarians do this?

I find it really helpful in part of the discernment process. Being reconciled to God is vital in this process, obviously.

I usually go to confession once a week. It always hurts when I miss confession and then cannot receive the Eucharist at Mass that day! But it sounds like you are far less of a sinner than I am.
 
^Same here. I usually go once a week, sometimes once every 2 weeks. I’m going again tomorrow, then hopefully Mass celebrated by the bishop.

Oh no no no. I would honestly go more times if I could. Probably once a week to every other week.
 
I just got back from my Christmas discernment retreat, and it was wonderful. Things are becoming a lot clearer for me. It was a silent retreat (my first one), so it was an experience. Holy Hour was beautiful both days, and so was Morning/Evening Prayer and the Masses. I didn’t want to leave. I also got a one-on-one meeting with my vocations director, and that really relieved a lot of worry and anxiety. I want to go back so badly, haha. Well, I had a great time. I feel like that this is what the Lord really wants me to do. It just gets clearer and clearer. It was funny because during Adoration, I was asking Him to give me some sort of sign, and I flipped open the hymnal for some odd reason, and the first hymn title a I read was “Come and Follow Me”. :o
 
I had a nice encounter yesterday before the 7:30 mass. I just started altar serving (I’d rather not look like a total idiot when I’m at the seminary) at a parish in the Springs. I’m one of the oldest there I don’t use any of the albs over in the servers’ sacristy so I get to use a deacon’s alb. Anyways I was over in the other sacristy for the priest an an old lady walked in (I think they help prepare all of Father’s things for mass) and asked me if I was a seminarian. I laughed and said no, I’m just a future seminarian. Yet another sign that I’m on the right track I guess. 😃

I plan on actually starting the application process soon as well. I just have to wait for the new year then get the application from my bishop, then I can get started! I’m kinda nervous about the whole thing, but I’m not letting it get to me too bad.
 
I imagine being a priest and saying mass and preaching homilies and stuff too… i do it privately because i don’t want anyone to notice :cool: so good luck to you, I just got word myself that I am going to seminary this fall 😃
