My dear friend Bible reader

Instead of criticising catholics for the ways and methods of prayer they use why don’t you try to learn from us? I’ve looked at websites from protestants and bible christians about prayer but it does not really get into the nitty gritty of how to actually pray. It tells you what to do, but not how to do it. Some catholics pray 24/7 you know. They do this by many different means of prayer. Prayer does take many forms and the prayer life is something we must work at and improve continually as we go through various stages in our prayer life thru our lives. If you read any of the thousands of masterpieces by catholics on how to pray and how to actually do it, and do it better and better and advance in your prayer life written by catholic saints usually over the last 2,000 yrs you will learn a lot. I know non catholics have converted because their seminary or theology professor used catholic books on prayer because protestants etc had nothing to remotely compare to the vast treasures the church has to offer on this subject.

Check it out my friend.

I’m off to bed now because it’s late and I have to take my friend to see his brother in hospital before he dies soon, tomorrow- today, and we’re going there to pray the divine mercy chaplet by him because our Lord appeared to a Polish saint last century and promised divine mercy and salvation if we pray this prayer by the side of a dying person. Not a superstitioin my friend. It’s a sort of sign of predestination, but as catholics believe it.

Good night and God bless you:thumbsup:🙂

there are many groups in the christanity and one of the most popular group is the catholic one. according to the discussion do catholics follow bible is not the matter, most of the christians knows about the major changes in the bible. every version of the bible is different from the old version even the syntax of the versus does’t remains the same. the same is with the catholics, the conflicts in the bible is major key to keep the catholics away from the bible.

I have some few questions about the catholic religion. I am not catholic, but have studied the catholic religion and I have many friends that are catholic. So I have some questions please answer.
Q1.Why do you bow down to Mary?
When you studied Catholicism do you remember coming across the Catholic teaching that forbids worshipping idols; so, whatever your eyes seem to be telling you, you know now that if the person is Catholic they are not worshippig idols.
Is there anything in the Bible that says to recognize Mary, adore Mary, or talk to Mary?
It clearly says in Exodus 20:4 through 5
Yes. Again, one of the Commandments is to honour your father and mother. Mary is Jesus’ mother and we as adapted children of God and sisters and brothers of Christ also have Mary as our mother. And she is honoured, not the same way as you honour the girl at the checkout; but as you honour the girl whom God Himself chose to be His mother. ‘Blessed art thou among women.’
4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
Give me your money, for it is inscribed with graven images which both you and your God abhor. I don’t mind graven images on my money though, and I’ll keep yours safe if you want.
The graven image commandment is about man making other gods and worshipping them, its not about painting pictures or printing faces on your bills.
5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Q2.whats with the Rosary?
is there anything in the Bible about praying a Rosary, counting beads, etc.
The Bible is about the Rosary.
Q3.calling the Priest father?
As St. Paul the Apostle chosen by Christ…
It also says clearly in the bible in Matthew 23:9 “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”
That is all my questions. I used the KJV bible for these verses.

As Catholics we should have respect for the mother of Christ, as Christ’s mother was important to Jesus himself. If we insult a person’s mother, we might be trying to insult a person himself. There are insults referring to mothers in English and other languages. Nevertheless, Mary is not God and only the mother of God and should not be worshipped in the same way as Christ. Mary can not save us however we ask her to intercede for us with her son. We should have respect for Mary as she was dear to Christ.
