**Maybe you should explain first why they should admit such a thing and what it would prove? **Will you admit that there are Catholics that do worship Mary to the point of idol worship?

newadvent.org/cathen/15459a.htmI am confused then. You’ll have to reconcile what the Catholic Encyclopedia says regarding this:

I completely understand the Catholic Encyclopedia on this and accept this as not denying God the worship He, and He alone, deserves.
It seems to me that many Catholics want to avoid the word because of attacks on the concept. But in so doing you make things even more confused, at least to me. I understand you do not worship Mary as you would God. I understand that everyone worships things that are not God and that this is OK so long as the worship is not that which is due only to God. When I see many people saying we dont pray to or worship Mary and then a resource I use to help me understand Catholic teachings (which I highly value by the way even as a Protestant) say otherwise I’m left confused. If pushed too hard I’ll get the feeling I’m being deceived or something untoward.
I thought reading Scripture was a prayer? If your using the Scriptures the apostles wrote and that this use is a form of prayer then arent you using them as mediators when you pray? No one in the Catholic faith is denying Christ as being the only mediator to the Father but rather they recognize The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don’t need you!"I do not pray to these men, nor should you. Paul made that clear when others were claiming they were of Paul’s baptism and not someone elses…
I hope that the first string jumps in for your edification. . I am just one of the guys. Then you are either blind or deceptive, I think we know which it is.
I didn’t expect anything from you Coptic, after your first responce I could tell you were not the first string here. But there have been some good answers here, but they too have failed to convince me that praying to Mary to the point of worshiping her is biblical or right in the eyes of God.
yes. Absolutely. In the third century. This has been condemned. Will you admit that there are Catholics that do worship Mary to the point of idol worship?
I don’t think Attaway is going to say the secret word and win $100.00.I thought reading Scripture was a prayer? Because it is a fact. And it would prove that when you allow a little of error into the church, many times it gets out of hand. Mexico comes to mind…**Maybe you should explain first why they should admit such a thing and what it would prove? **
Context please. He was speaking to the church here, not the dearly departed…Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. james 5:16
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 1 Tim 2:1-2
Wait I thought Christ was the only one we should go to for intercession?

Wait so your saying the souls in heaven are not part of the Church?Context please. He was speaking to the church here, not the dearly departed…
In consideration of Attaways posting, I believe he has bet his life.
First we would have to ask them if they want to play "Bet Your Life” :whackadoo:
The first string jumped in and closed the other post you were posting as it was going nowhere. Recall below your name the word “trial”. These posts are for edification, understanding, questioning, and you are not doing any of these. I suspect this post will close if you continue. Then you are either blind or deceptive, I think we know which it is.
