Do diocesan priests get a salary?

There’s an argument brewing in another forum about whether or not priests get a salary. I have seen my parish budget; I’m friendly with some priests; I know they get a salary. A particular poster keeps arguing the point.

I’ve tried the search box, but I can’t find anything definitive to post, so I’m asking.

Yes or no: Do diocesan priests receive a salary?
 
Hi,

Diocesan priests do get salaries. Religious order priests get salaries if they work for a diocese or other institution, but they must turn it in to their superiors who, in most instances, give them a monthly allowance.
