Do guardian angels get new assignments?

Does a guardian angel move from one person to the next when the person they are assigned to dies or are they assigned to just one soul?
 
This is something we just don’t know this side of eternity. All we know for certain is that the guardian angel of a damned person does not go to hell with that person because hell is an eternal rejection of God and the guardian angels have eternally chosen for God.
