Since Ash Wednesday is not a holy day of obligation it is never a sin to miss it. However, you are still obligated to fast and abstinence on Ash Wednesday even if you do not attend Mass.
There are usually services both in the morning and at night in most parishes so if you still wanted to attend you might be able to find a parish that has a Mass time that is more convenient for you, but you are not obligated to do so
