Do I need to be buried in a Catholic Cemetery?

Hello-

I am Catholic and my husband is not. Most of the relatives (on his side) are buried in our city’s cemetery. I know a lot of people that are buried there and wanted to know that, being Catholic, am I only to be buried in a Catholic cemetery (by my church), or can I choose to be buried in our city’s cemetery with my husband someday. I told my Mom of my wishes and she gasped because she said that this cemetery was not considered to be “sacred ground” and that I should ask my Priest this question. Any thoughts?
