Do I need to re-confess if I didn't complete my penance?

I am going to confession tonight. At my last confession I did not complete all of the penance given to me. So this is kinda a general question: When does absolution occur? In the confession or after you complete your penance? Should I re-confess those sins from my last confession tonight?
Thanks!

Did you deliberately miss out and not do your Penance?

I would mention not doing the Penance your Confessor gave you next time you’re in Confession.

Part of the penance was to attend mass on the following Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I only attended the Sunday mass … deliberately 😦

When he gave you the penance in the confessional, and you agreed to it (or didn’t object at least) - did you intend THEN to do the penance?

Intention to do the penance at the time of absolution (even if it later turns out you don’t do it), is what causes validity.

Also, if attending Mass on those 3 days was not possible for you, you should have asked for a different penance.

True, and the the previous sins were forgiven at the moment of abosolution. Not doing penance is a sin AFTER your last confession and should be mentioned. You do not have to repeat you sins from before however you should confess that you did not do your penance.
