                                         	    		 	                  A controversial do-it-yourself suicide pill will go on show in Toronto this weekend in a move expected to highlight deep divisions in the right-to-die debate.

A group of elderly Australians gathered in a rural farmhouse last year to illegally concoct a lethal chemical designed to end their lives.
That process will be outlined by controversial Australian doctor Philip Nitschke this Sunday at the World Conference of Right to Die Societies in Toronto.

Dr. Nitschke said the extreme actions of that group of 20 elderly Australians — who pooled their money to buy the drug-making equipment and ingredients, and all took part in its manufacture — were likely to split the conference.

Mixing deadly chemicals to kill yourself?

What a novel idea.

How is making poison to kill yourself with headline news?

What suicide should be more publicized is the spiritual suicide the media encourages. Advertisements for abortions (complete with testimonials), morning after pills seen as a necessary convenience to our society, now the elderly are knocking themselves off.

I suppose if the media keeps promoting it, maybe all that will be left will be folks who fit the “American Eagle” image.

Hitler tried to purify Europe. We’re giving ourselves the same treatment by correcting even the most slight of physical “imperfections” with painful and costly surgery, encouraging abortion for the unborn, euthanasia for the elderly or disabled, and taking the name of God out of our schools, the ten commandments out of courthouses and attempting to confine religion to one building for only one day per week.

Definately. If it becomes over-the-counter, just imagine how many murders will be used by that. For example, if someone didn’t like their spouse, just go buy a pill, mix it in your spouse’s drink, and give it to them. Kids who are depressed will take them (even if there’s an age limit, they might ask someone who’s over 18). You might have doctors giving it to elderly patients liberaly (perhaps here in the US) to “offset the social security budget deficit”, only they might do it under the guise of some congressional bill that says letting the elderly suffer is a crime.

I doubt it will be an over-the-counter drug but I’ll bet there will be serious attempts to make it a perscription drug. If it does become a perscription drug it will be available under-the-counter to almost anyone.
