Do Karaite Jews believe in a Messiah?

Thank you for sharing. Well my Rabbis’ reaction was different when I told him about my visit in the liberal community, and he also said that he didn’t know any of their Rabbinim. My friend told me lately that when he was out of town the Rabbi of their orthodox community didn’t let him in the synagogue on Friday night. Maybe it’s just slightly different here and only on some occations, and since I’m sensitive in regards to this topic I experience things the way I do.
That’s disappointing, especially that a rabbi of ANY movement in Judaism would not allow a Jew, or anyone else for that matter, into the synagogue, unless perhaps they were dressed inappropriately or seemed to pose an imminent threat. Perhaps I’m naive, but I never heard of such a thing before.

Made us all sad to hear this. He told his Rabbi about it who replied that he would contact that other Rabbi about it. The week after, he was invited to their shul, but didn’t want to go anymore.

Off topic: Love the verse from Acts in your signature, Katrin! A friend of mine once belonged to a church where the youth group named itself “St. Eutychus.” (Perhaps a hint to the pastor that they didn’t appreciate long sermons.) 😉

Hahaha, that’s funny 😃 Thanks for sharing.

I chose this line as it’s so fitting. I work full time, hence on some days I study scripture till late at night until I cannot keep my eyes open anymore.

Yeah it is a fun incident. I was laughing out loud when I first read about it 🙂

I’ve met exactly one Karaite Jew in my life. It was strange because he was wearing tzitzit but not a yarmulke. Took a little getting used to.
