I don’t know if privelages would be the right word…but i mean like preforming(?) the sacraments, preforming exorcisms, etc. You know, stuff that is usually associated with priests.

Not all monks are priests. Many are received into their order as “brothers” who do not administer the sacraments nor perform exorcisms.

So what do they do? just live a life of prayer?
Yes, and live the rule of their order, which varies from one order to another. Most have work they also do to support their monastery. It’s a very full life, but it’s not for those who aren’t called to it.

The life of a monk (no matter priest or brother) is prayer and work…prayer and work…and then…more prayer and more work. It’s a good life. 👍
