…then there are the accusations that ‘Catholics did not share…’

So we are ignorant if we stay to ourselves, arrogant if we defend our Faith, and hell-bound if we refuse to accept the myriads of ‘all ways lead to the Truth.’

Talk about staking the deck!

There is a difference between defending and arguing. Sometimes people mix the two and do not know the difference. Some of the argument are just semantic and not so much about explaining and clarifying the faith. And then there are people who just want to tell you that your belief is wrong and would not want a proper discussion, in which case there is no point in arguing with people as such.

Truth are often simple and if stated clearly, should not result in useless argument, which can only damage the relationship.

I concur.

Yet, it seems that when Catholics defend the Faith it’s always seen as an argument; when non-Catholics push their belief it’s presented as “salvation ministry.”

What a wonderful thing - for you - to be going through !

And so young.

Sounds like the Fourth of July is about to happen 😇

“Dad, I love you and do not want to debate with you. There are answers for every question you raise, and I’d love for you to engage some people about them”

Send him to these forums, or to a place like AveMaria Radio forums (smaller, more moderated).

My father more than likely isn’t gonna let me go to , i never ask to go to keep from having a argument

I understand stand what your saying about the virgin marry and praising her , my fathers and his friend for some reason seem to think that Catholics worship virgin marry above all else , I’m sorry for not going into more detail on the post

Fantastic insight into The virgin Mary. I never looked at it like that

Kandi, you do not need to apologize for anything; you are welcomed to share as much or as little as you deem necessary.

I would be willing to offer you my understanding on anything Catholic (and what I have learned from exchanges with non-Catholics); but, please understand that in no way am I urging you to engage in any conflict with you father. I am a grown man and an avid Catholic and I only challenge people when they openly engage me in such debates (seeking to uproot the Catholic Church)–and even then I’m quite flexible allowing any encounter to dissolve rather than to force my understanding upon those who fully do not wish to accept anything but their own.

So I will never give you ammunition to fight; I will only offer a Catholic perspective, from my own personal view.

I love studying Sacred Scriptures; they Reveal more than just what is presented on face value; the Holy Spirit, as St. Paul states, comes to our aid and allows us to see, as Christ Promised, a full Revelation.

Since you enjoyed this connection, consider Genesis 3:15, Apocalypse (Revelation) 12 (particularly vv.: 1-2, 4-6, 13-14, 16-17), and St. John 19:25-29–not only are generations prophesied to call the Virgin Blessed, but we (those who are in Fellowship with Christ) are the Virgin’s adopted children; we, who Belong to Christ, have Satan for eternal nemesis and the Virgin for a mom, in Christ we share more than just a title!
