God is love, right?

So people, atheists or whatever, who genuinely show love to others and work to better the world… do these people have God in some basic or primordial way?

I think they do, perhaps unbeknownst to them, in a most essential way since they demonstrate their creation in the image and likeness of G-d by means of the love they show others in repairing the world.

All humanity is influenced by a type of grace which the Church calls “prevenient grace.” This is the small voice inside everyone (even atheists) drawing them to God. It is also how we explain the human conscience - an innate knowledge of right and wrong that humans alone possess.

Since God is love, anyone who has love is further touched by divine Grace, even if he does not know it.

I think so; reminds me of Romans 2

[13] For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.
[14] When Gentiles who have not the law do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.
[15] They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts…
