It could indicate one of at least a couple of different things. The priest may be a member of a religious order and has chosen to wear a wedding band to indicate his consecrated life (as do nuns). Or, the priest might be married, either because he is an Eastern Catholic or because he is a converted Protestant minister who was given a dispensation from celibacy when ordained to the priesthood.
