I’m thinking about buying this multi pack of green scapulars. But I’m not sure they are completely wool. I have heard that scapulars need to be wool. But I also hear about people wearing scapular medals. Is it really necessary for them to be all wool?

Here’s the pack I am considering buying if you want to see for yourselves.

Brown scapulars used to have to be made out of wool, but that has changed. They can be made out of any fabric now, natural or synthetic.

Scapular medals have been around for over a hundred years,

There was never a requirement for green scapulars to be made out of wool, or even out of any fabric, natural or synthetic. They could theoretically be produced out of metal, wood, leather or plastic, or any other material that is suitable for wearing.

The 1909 catholic encyclopedia article on scapulars says they should be made of wool according to ‘eccesiastical regulations’ but doesn’t cite anything specific. I don’t know of anything specific to the contrary in modern times either.

Personally, I like the symbolism (and feel) of the woolen ones, even if they can be a little more expensive.
