I was told that swearing has demons in the word for each letter that has in the word so like if the swear word has four words in it then there are four demons in the word. I was wondering if this is true and Where do I look it up to see if it is???

That is the strangest thing I have read on the internet this month.

No and do not take spiritual lessons from whatever source you got that info from. They are delusional

The moral of the story being that dagnabitgeewizzybejeebers is an EXTREMELY bad word to say out loud. That’s 25 demons instantly transported inside your car whenever a light turns yellow.

@Rosary_Boxer

Well i don’t know about the four demons.but yes as the Word of God contains the Holy Spirit, if you see the opposite unrighteousness words or swear words contain the evil Spirits

Opposite of John 15:3 You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you. Hebrews 4:12 Indeed, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. same here St Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit when she heard the words of Mother Mary as the word contains the holy spirit and same opposite unholy and wicked and swear words contains the evil spirit does not the words of consecration, effect the ordinary bread and wine to that of the Body and blood of Jesus same way, words effect the opposite. Luke 1:41-44 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit 42 and exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. 43 And why has this happened to me, that the mother of my Lord comes to me? 44 For as soon as I heard the sound of your greeting, the child in my womb leaped for joy.

Revelation 13: 5 The beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months. 6 It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven

Revelation 16:13 And I saw three foul spirits like frogs coming from the mouth of the dragon, from the mouth of the beast, and from the mouth of the false prophet. 14 These are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty

Revelation 12:15 Then from his mouth the serpent poured water like a river after the woman, to sweep her away with the flood.

Wisdom 1:6 For wisdom is a kindly spirit,but will not free blasphemers from the guilt of their words;
because God is witness of their inmost feelings,and a true observer of their hearts, and a hearer of their tongues.7 Because the spirit of the Lord has filled the world,and that which holds all things together knows what is said,8 therefore those who utter unrighteous things will not escape notice,
and justice, when it punishes, will not pass them by.9 For inquiry will be made into the counsels of the ungodly,and a report of their words will come to the Lord,to convict them of their lawless deeds;
10 because a jealous ear hears all things,and the sound of grumbling does not go unheard.

11 Beware then of useless grumbling,and keep your tongue from slander;because no secret word is without result,and a lying mouth destroys the soul.

John 6:63 It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. Thus the word contain either the Holy Spirit or the evil Spirit

Never heard that one - lol
But cursing - is demonic - swearing -
Jesus said whoever calls his brother a fool is in danger of HELL FIRE
So you can imagine what four word cursing - will do.

I can’t tell if you’re just messing around or if this is a genuine question, because this is the strangest thing I’ve read so far.

No. Swear words don’t have “demons in them” based on how many letters they have

I agree with Francis. I think the words though, have to have an element of intention as a curse…

No. Expletives are just a word. Yeah, they can be rude and bad mannered. But really there’s a time and a place for everything.

If I smash my finger with a hammer, I will be using certain four letter words!

yes as Jesus said in John 6:63 It is the spirit (Holy Spirit) that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. Thus the word contain either the Holy Spirit or the evil Spirit

No. Swearing may be caused by demons for some people, if it facilitates sin and growing soft.

Where there is sin there is a devil. If one of those words takes the name of the Lord in vain then you can be sure there is a devil around. But demons aren’t dependent on the number of letters in the word.

I don’t think so…I never heard of anything like that before.

I echo what people are saying as far as the superstition aspects of this. It sounds like something said to frightened children to keep them from a harmful habit.

Having said that, there is very much something to the evil of using foul language. What comes from our mouths tends to be a reflection of what is in our hearts, it is an indicator of how low we have sunken.

No one that is even remotely interested in striving towards Heaven and holiness should be using foul language. Occasionally I slip up and let something slip out by accident. This is something that should be confessed beyond a shadow of any doubt. As far as sins go, this would be one of the ones that are easier to do something about. It takes some work and practice, but after you abstain from it, you will find that when others use it, it will become more offensive.
