A priest visited our church and during his sermon stated that when we partake of the Eucharist the very body, blood Soul and Divinity of our Lord takes up residents within our own body. To put it in my own words as I understood it… The very cells of our Lord’s body and blood as well as His Divine soul becomes part of us. This sermon was very beautiful to me.
Yet, when I asked another priest about this he told me, “No, it is only spiritual and when another eliment is added to the Eucharist it ceases to be the Eucharist.” We had a long conversation about this and what I took away from this conversation was… The moment the bread and wine touch my tounge the Eucharist ceases to be the Eucharist because the new eliments that make up me are now added to it.
I am confused. Can anyone help?
