The official church teaching is that we hope for the unbaptized unborn. Is there greater hope for those children who would’ve been born to practicing Christians?
I have lost 4 children. I had two miscarriages, an embryo that passed away after being frozen, a living child born through IVF, and another miscarriage. I devoted my life to Christ after my child was born and before my last miscarriage. (As a note separate from this discussion, I am devastated over my IVF decision and beg God for forgiveness on a recurring basis, I’m so torn up about it. I may create a separate post about my experience some day).
I spend a lot of time mourning my lost children, but especially the first three. I wonder if they will suffer an eternal consequence because they passed away before my conversion. Is there any church theory that says the unborn child of a Christian has a better chance of going to Heaven than that of a non Christian?
