What are the name of the following heresies?
  1. “God only cares about the spiritual and does not care about the temporal.” (kinda seems like Deism?)
  2. “Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross did not do everything. This is why we must suffer to make up the difference.”
  3. “Possessing money or any other material possessions is evil.”
  4. “Wanting to possess money or other material possessions is evil, even if not coveting or envying.”
  5. “If you do not suffer, you will go to hell.”
  6. “If you do not like to suffer, you offend God, in a mortally sinful way.”
  7. “The self is evil. This is why we must deny ourselves.”
I’m sure that these were heresies that taught these things, anyone know the names of them?

Wouldn’t the seventh be Gnosticism, since they think matter is evil?

  1. “God only cares about the spiritual and does not care about the temporal.” (kinda seems like Deism?) or quietism
  2. “Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross did not do everything. This is why we must suffer to make up the difference.” Pelagianism, or a variety thereof?
  3. “Possessing money or any other material possessions is evil.” Spiritual Fransiscanism?
  4. “Wanting to possess money or other material possessions is evil, even if not coveting or envying.” Neurotic Scrupulosity
  5. “If you do not suffer, you will go to hell.” Religious Sadism
  6. “If you do not like to suffer, you offend God, in a mortally sinful way.” Religious Masochism
  7. “The self is evil. This is why we must deny ourselves.” Not sure…some kind of pessimistic new age thing?

Spritual Fransiscanism is a heresy?
  1. “Wanting to possess money or other material possessions is evil, even if not coveting or envying.” Neurotic Scrupulosity
  2. “If you do not suffer, you will go to hell.” Religious Sadism
  3. “If you do not like to suffer, you offend God, in a mortally sinful way.” Religious Masochism
These don’t sound like heresies, but psychological terms.

Heresy is not always easily detected because Satan usually camouflages the lie with a large measure of truth. He is a master of deceit. Because the world is so ignorant of God, Satan can tell them virtually anything, and they will believe it. But with us he generally does not directly challenge or obviously and blatantly misquote Scripture. His confrontation with Jesus in Matthew 4 is a classic example. He subtly twists the intent of a scripture to bend it into a wrong application or understanding. At other times, he will appeal to our vanity to get us to react to his suggestions without thinking.
