Yes, It makes alot of sense and probably applies to alot of people with mental illness. But I’m not crazy,😃 , disturbed at times, very much so. Meds do not help me, they don’t make much difference at all. I take 5 meds a morning just to cover the possibilities. I have gone off of them for months at a time with no change. It only messes with my sleep schedule. I had to go to different Dr.s because I could not get a straight diagnosis. I’ve even had a brain scan for tumors because of my cancer history. But, I take my meds, see the Dr. and a therapist so no one worries. My therapist is a christian. She really likes to hear me talk and I think she is starting to learn.🙂 I always present a new challenge to her that will draw her to learn more about the Catholic faith. Its good for both of us.
I’m not “doped”. I’m very aware of my circumstances and how it relates to God. Granted, I learn something new every day. I know God loves me, I know I’ve gotten myself into trouble. I know Gods mercy is more then my sins and He is forgiving. I know what I have been through is my own doing and nessessary. It took alot to break me, I was a very determined person. My mentor, who is in the 20th SF as an E8 Master Sgt, called me a hard charger and gave me a recommendation to the CO of my LRS Ranger unit I was in out of MD. I was a stud, or thought I was 😃 . God crushed me, turned my world upside down and He was right in doing it. My soul was dieing or dead. The unbearable was nessessary. I still don’t like it and have to deal with it every day. The more I learn, the more I realize it’s beyond me to grasp all the angles. God has presented a custom fit challenge nessesary for me to have a chance at salvation. Nothing special. Just fitting and just. Tim
Tim says ‘the unbearable was necessary.’ What a fantastic comment, and sometimes, yes, God allows the unbearable to happen (what we as humans consider unbearable–never unbearable to God, of course) so we can stretch, grow and learn…and hopefully, emerge better for it all.

I hope to look back and laugh. I try to use humor and joke around with “but I’m crazy, so what do you expect”. The truth is at times it is just plain freaky. I can’t really discern well, the origin that is. Just when I start to think it is just in my mind, something happens that blows that thought out of the water. I wonder if some people who believe in God have always had spiritual “guidence” or “obstacles” and it is just part of their perception. It would be nice to have a partner in faith. Jesus sent his disciples out in twos for a reason. Some can’t bear it alone. Tim
