Do we digest the Lord in Holy Communion?

My daughter asked me what happens to the host. She asked if we digest Jesus? I’m not quite sure how to answer this one.
 
Hi,

Good question! When the host is digested and it no longer resembles bread, it is no longer the body of Christ. The Lord is only present as long as the appearance of bread is present.
