Do we help sinners or avoid them?

Jesus told us to turn the other cheek, love our enemies, and pray for those who persecute us. Therefore, I’m not sure I understand the following verse;
2 Cor 6:17 - Wherefore, Go out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing

My question has 2 parts-
A) Does this mean to avoid sinners, and not to help them?
B )Or does it mean some sinners are beyond help? Is that ever the case?
