Do we worship the Real Jesus

I would say that Mike has been fed a false idea of the real Jesus.

This guy needs to read the whole CCC instead of pulling out bits & pieces. He’s just like the people that Bishop Sheen talks about in this quote:“Few people in America hate the Catholic religion, but there are many who hate what they mistakenly believe is the Catholic religion—and that if what they hate really were the Catholic religion, Catholics would hate it too.”
Bishop Fulton Sheen

Lies Lies & more Lies.
Jesus gave authority over His Church on earth to Peter (The Rock), a Church that has been attacked left right and centre, but it’s still standing.
Some of this stuff your reading is a waste of paper, a waste of the preaches breath, and a waste of our time.

A stupid question in the first place, “do you worship the real Jesus” there is only one Jesus.

Waaaaah!

I can’t read the link. It is in a .pdf format.

Does anyone know why our not-so-trusty copies of Internet Explorer refuse to read .pdf even though I’m sure this one at least used to.

Anyone know how I can get IE to load and display these things?

Any help would be appreciated - but not so I can read this link.

I know that’s off topic - but it’s more positive than Mike Gendron’s views of catholicism. Say a prayer for him today. Or ask someone to pray for him. Or both. His organisation seems to have a 4-fold purpose, each part of which involves getting as many people as far away from catholicism as possible. That’s about all you need to know about the site. Hence the need for much prayer.

Thanks for the quick response.

If only it were that easy. I downloaded that software in May to replace an older version of acrobat reader.

Thinking about it - it was probably at that point that IE stopped accessing pdf documents.

Why didn’t I stick with acrobat 4.0? Everything worked with old software. I’ve tried everything in the acrobat help files but nothing seems to help.

Oh well. It doesn’t work with the laptop either and that came with IE and Reader 6 already installed.

People ask me " why do you post this stuff". Because this “stuff” has taken a lot of Catholics out of the Church.
A few weeks ago a women told me she was contemplating leaving the Church. I gave her some back issues of This Rock, and some tapes, and by the Grace of God she is staying in the Church.

If a person has doubt as to whom they are worshiping they might consider the following:

"I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.

This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

We can be sure that we are serving Jesus if we live as he taught and as he lived himself. There may in fact be some Catholics who are not worshipping the real Jesus just as there are non-Catholic Christians who fail to live according to Jesus’s teachings. It really does matter more how a person lives their life than which building they hear about Jesus in.

Where in the bible does it say that Mike was appointed by Jesus to lead his Church and where the pronouncements of Mike are inspired by God and protected from error by the Holy Spirit?

Way to go Sirach! God is using you ! I agree with you about the posts. that & we seem to get a fair number of folks who feel like it’s their duty to evengelize us, even here. I’m Irish & Polish, so I’m Catholic clear back to my DNA 😃 I was one of those led away people for over 30 years but I’m back now (& forever) & will answer anyone who has issues w/ Holy Church. If it wasn’t all true I wouldn’t believe it, but it is & I love it heart & soul.
Keep up the good work Bro! 👍

You could save the documents to your desktop when in IE and then later open them with the reader.

In case you have trouble saving it to the desktop: when you are confronted with a link to pdf stuff, don’t click like ususual. Click with the OTHER mouse button. So you get a little menu to pop up. Select the option to save target as… or save as… or some such. Save it to your desktop. Then close IE or whatever and go to your desktop and double click on the new file there. Does the reader open it? If you get some dumb dialogue about which program you want to use to open the file, then pick the adobe reader from the list it gives you. If adobe is not in the list, ask someone again what to do. Either it isn’t actually installed on your system or some other problem.

Oh, if you double click on the file on your desktop and windows tries to open it with some other program besides adobe, then what you need to do is NOT double click on the file to open it. Rather, click with that other mouse button again to get a menu and pick open with… don’t pick open. Pick open with… Then you will get a list of programs and pick the reader from it. There is a little box on the bottom there, check it so that windows will always open pdf files with the reader. Then double clicking should work from there on out. In other words, someone hijacked the pdf extension from you.

Sorrry to post this on the thread. I’d private message, but that isn’t working quite right these days. Hope it works.

The man who wrote that article which denigrated the Catholic belief in Jesus Christ was Mike Gendron. He is a graduate of the “way out” Dalles Theological Seminary. A short study of DTS will explain why the man wrote that article.

It is nothing less than an attempt to pursuade people away from the Catholic Church. He is intellegent in a cunning sort of way. Notice that he didnot tell the complete Catholic side of the story. He uses half-truths.
