I was recently looking through some of the movies and realised something pretty surprising.

I had watched the movie “Saved!” when I was bored and surfing tv one night, and this has got to be the most blasphemous garbage movie i’ve ever seen, and it actually seems as if it is speaking on behalf of christians. I remember this movie ending with a (baptist) priest looking to carry out a relationship with a woman, even though he can’t. A homosexual saying “It’s no big deal liking those of the same sex, I really doubt God would punish me for being who I am.” (Or something like that) And a christian girl having a child out of wedlock. And the only person who seems like she is a follower of Jesus, turns out to be this vengeful villain in the end who is actually quite psychotic ("she throws a bible at this girls head saying “I’m filled with Christ love”)

Most of the people who seen this movie were likely teenagers (It does have Mandy Moore in it) and this movie actually ends in a way that says “Sins are ok, as long as you believe nothing is wrong with it.”

And the thing I can’t believe is most somewhat tame horror movies (example: amityville horror) get an “O - morally offensive” rating, and a movie like “Saved!” gets an “L - limited” rating. “Saved!” has to be one of the most dangerous movies dealing with christianity that is out there, and the worst part is that it is aimed at teenagers, who are impressionable, especially those who have no faith to start with, and this just reaffirms their belief with society that homosexuality and pre-marital sex is ok.

Does anyone else find this bothering? I really can’t believe how some harmless horror movies get an O rating while this movie slides by with an L rating, even though they point out all the major problems in this movie in the review. It really does blow my mind.

Saved was satire - and if you’d ever attended a Evangelical private high school, chances are you’d have a different view of the movie. It is not for everyone (limited) - but, there are some hypocrites out there in the “Christian” world - this movie shines a spotlight on them.

I check out their movie ratings before we watch a movie and for the most part I agree with them.

But I bet you most of the people seeing this movie are little mandy moore fans, with no real religion. Most probably wouldn’t even know the difference between christian, catholic or baptist.

And I doubt that most people who see this are thinking about how there are some “hypocrites in the Christian World”, it’s saying that it’s ok to be gay and live your life in sin, and the one priest with any kind of authority doesn’t set any of those “hypocrites” straight, and the movie literally ends with the epiphany that all these things are ok.

I just can’t believe this movie wasn’t shunned like so many others. It may be a helpful guide to picking movies but I sure don’t agree with all of them. Especially after this.
